Walking tour of Glasgow - Sunday 03 July – Meet 1.30pm Buchanan St Underground

A Magical Mystery Tour of Immigration Controls and the “Chain of Deportation”.

The G8 states and their leaders claim to be helping the third world, promoting democracy and protecting human rights. But freedom of movement is a central human right that is constantly violated by all states of the G8.

Controlling migrants and deporting people seems like a mystical, magical process. But while the G8 meet in Scotland to plan how to make the walls of Fortress Europe even higher, we will expose the secrets of the dirty tricks.

Asylum-Seekers, refugees and migrants often find themselves on "tours" around government sponsored institutions and private companies that earn money carrying out racist policies that separate and exclude people.

On Sunday July the 3rd we can go on our own tour to visit some of the magicians who help asylum seekers “disappear”. We will visit organisations involved in locking up and deporting Asylum seekers. Let's join the dots in the picture of detention and deportation.

This is not a mass march, it is a walking tour in groups. Groups will assemble near Bucahnan Tube Station where your tour guides will be waiting.

We invite everyone to this day. We make no distinction between refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, workers, citizens, campaigners, journalists and residents. We are all people and No-one is illegal.

Glasgow is not a special place. You can join the dots which link borders, repression and other forms of control in any city in Europe.
